How to Shave Sensitive Skin: A Gentler Routine for Men

Skin · March 12, 2026 · 6 min read

Sensitive skin does not need a special gadget. It needs fewer insults per shave: less friction, fewer chemicals, fewer passes, and a blade that cuts on the first try.

Reduce the number of passes

Each pass is a light exfoliation. Two is fine; four is an injury. Get more out of pass one by hydrating longer and using a thicker cream instead of adding passes at the end.

Cut the fragrance and alcohol

Fragrance and high-alcohol aftershaves are the two most common triggers for post-shave stinging. Switch to a fragrance-light cream and a simple balm and give it two weeks before judging.

Blade freshness matters more for you

Sensitive skin punishes dull blades immediately. Change at four or five shaves, not seven. Keeping a large refill pack on hand is the practical version of this advice.

Finish cool and simple

Cool rinse, pat dry — never rub — and a light moisturizer. Skip exfoliating scrubs on shave day.

The bottom line

Fewer passes, fragrance-light products, fresher blades, cool rinse. Sensitivity usually improves within a couple of weeks.

Fresh blades in 6, 12, 18 and 24 packs. Pause, skip or cancel online at any time.
